Beers of West-Flanders
(pictured above - from left to right)
Brugse Zot
Brewery: Straffe Hendrik
Strength: 6% ABV

A popular and eagerly awaited beer from the once redundant Straffe Hendrik brewery in Brugge. A light and refreshing ale with more malt content than the traditional blonde resulting in a slightly sweeter beer.
St Bernardus Pater 6
Brewery: St Bernardus
Strength: 6.7% ABV

A full-bodied rich and fruity brown Abbey ale that is quite aromatic. The beer is deep brown with ruby highlights and a nice rich head. This is an excellent and satisfying beer, one of the very best Belgian Abbey dubbel types around..
Rodenbach
Brewery: Rodenbach
Strength: 5% ABV

This beer is a Belgian classic! It is top fermented and aged in oak giving it a brown/red colouration. It has a sharp & sour flavour that comes from the casks in which the ale is matured. It has a smooth texture and is surprisingly refreshing.
Popperings Hommelbier
Brewery: Van Eecke
Strength: 7.5% ABV

Deceptively strong, filtered pale ale, decidedly hoppy with an agreeable aftertaste. Brewed in Watou, near the village of Popperinge in West Flanders. This is a fantastic light, drinking beer.
Het Kappitel Pater
Brewery: Van Eecke
Strength: 6% ABV

Produced in Watou, a town close to the famous Westvleteren Abbey, this modest yet excellent dark ale combines a rich malt/fruit character with a superb dry finish.
Dolle Brouwers Export Stout
Brewery: de Dolle
Strength: 9% ABV

The ‘Mad Brewers’ took over the old Costenoble brewery in the village of Esen, West Flanders in 1980. They now brew some of Belgium’s most distinctive quality beers. This beers pours black with a huge tan head, it is unspiced with massive burnt tones, roasted malts and caramel. It is a fantastic beer made initially for the American market.

SAD NEWS
We have the sad news of the closure of the Liefmans Brewery, famous for their outstanding fruit beers Kriek and Frambozen. There are a few companies interested in taking the brewery over, and hopefully they will start brewing again. We will keep you posted of any developments in this area. For the moment though, we have increased our stock of fruit beers to compensate, for those of you that adore the 'fruit' beers, and there are many of you.
Take home the experience
We offer a large selection
of
gift packs, we can
even make up
